About Testing Programs and Registration For Exams

- Several weeks before you are ready to take the exam, contact your testing center to register for the exam. Unsure of your testing center? Click here to find one.
- When you contact the testing center, be sure to ask for the following information:
- How to get a registration form?
- How soon will you be able to take the test?
- Is there an additional testing center fee? If so, when is it due?
- What methods of payment are accepted?
- Should the payment for the exam be separate from the college�s fee?
- Can you register online?
- What is the cancellation policy?
- Register for your exam!
- DSST exam fee is $80. Your testing center may charge an additional fee for administering the exam.
- Show up about 15 minutes early on exam day to allow for proper check-in. Don�t forget to bring a valid photo I.D.
- Remember, there�s no penalty for guessing, so don�t leave anything blank!
- Relax and know that you�re well prepared!

CLEP� (College-Level Examination Program)
- The best option is to call your local testing center for their registration and scheduling policies. You will need to complete a registration form.
- If you need a list of testing centers, click here.
- Or, you can download a registration form from the CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) site.
- Complete the form and mail it to your test center with the appropriate fees.
- The testing center should contact you regarding the date and time of your exam.
- Show up on the specified day with your photo i.d. to take your exam.
- CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) exam fees are $70 per exam.

ECE (Excelsior College Examinations)
- Call Excelsior College at (888) 723-9267 and request a registration packet for the ECE exam you wish to take.
- When you receive the packet, fill out the registration form, mail it back to Excelsior College with the appropriate testing fee.
- Excelsior College will send you an "authorization to test letter."
- Go to the test center locations on Pearson VUE Web site www.pearsonvue.com/excelsior, by clicking on the �Locate a Test Center� tab at the top of the page.
- Schedule your testing appointment online via the Pearson VUE Webs site at www.pearsonvue.com/excelsior, or
- Access the Pearson site through Excelsior College Web site by clicking on �Excelsior College Examinations,� and �Scheduling you Excelsior College Exams.�
- Important! You will need to use your Excelsior College candidate ID number to schedule your appointment to test at
a Pearson Professional Center.
- Online scheduling is available on a 24 hour basis, in real time, and you will receive immediate, on-screen confirmation of your appointment plus a confirmation via email. Please print out a hard copy of either confirmation for your records. You may schedule your exam by telephone by calling Pearson's Candidate Services toll free line at 888-926-9488 Monday through Friday, 7am to 7pm central time. Pearson will charge you $10 for transactions by phone, including scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling an appointment to test. �So you may want to do these things online.

TECEP� Examination
(official partner - Thomas Edison State College Examinations)
- To register, print a TECEP� Registration Form here. Fill out the form and send it with the appropriate test fee to the Office of Test Administration.
- You will be sent an admission slip a week before your test date. Bring the admission slip and a photo ID to the exam. If you have not received your admission slip three days before your test date, call (609) 984-1181.
- Call your proctor a few days before your test date to make sure the exam has been received and to confirm your test date.
- If you are an enrolled student at Thomas Edison State College, call the Advisement Center to ensure that your tests will fill your degree program requirements before registering. If you are enrolled elsewhere, check with your own institution.

- You will be sent a score report. It will list a numerical score as well as a CR (Credit) or NC (No Credit) result. Note that passing results only appear on a Thomas Edison State College transcript. Test results are not calculated as part of a student's GPA. This means that a Thomas Edison State College transcript will NOT show a score, a letter grade, or a failed test, only tests completed successfully and the number of credits awarded. However, the minimum score required to earn credit on a TECEP� exam is equivalent to a letter grade of 'C.'

$59 per credit� (enrolled students)
$118 per credit (non-enrolled students)
$20 per test (test rescheduling fee)
