Nursing Performance Examinations

The Excelsior Nursing Performance Examinations (clinicals) measure a student's ability to perform the expected behaviors and skills of a prepared nurse. Each exam focuses on a different set of clinical skills. Clinical exams include a one-to-one evaluation by a trained examiner, real or simulated clinical situations and an objective assessment of your skills. The performance examination is taken at a Regional Performance Assessment Center (RPACs). These are located in Albany, NY, Schenectady, NY, Syracuse, NY, Utica, NY, Atlanta, GA, Lawrenceville, GA, Savannah, GA, Madison, WI, Racine, WI, Mansfield, OH, Plano, TX, and Amarillo, TX.

Here is the performance exam for the ASN:
  • CPNE (Clinical Performance in Nursing Examination)
  • FCCA (Focused Clinical Competencies Assessment)
