! and The Chauncey Group Partner

Press Release: January 28, 2002

Princeton, NJ (January 28, 2002) --, the premier source for Credit-by-Examination learning programs on the Internet, announced today a new partnership with The Chauncey Group International®, a subsidiary of Educational Testing Service® (ETS®), the leading provider of certification and licensing examinations for professionals, business, and government. The agreement enables to sell its study courses directly to students preparing for the DSST test administered by The Chauncey Group.

College students and adult learners use DSSTs (DANTES Subject Standardized Tests) to receive college credit from accredited institutions for knowledge gained outside the classroom. Educators nationwide recognize the DSST program as a cost-efficient means of completing a college program while providing universities with a reliable means of testing competency before awarding credit. Last year, The Chauncey Group administered over 80,000 DSST exams for college credit.

"More people than ever turn to distance learning to complete a degree," says Dwight Pittman, Vice President of "Credit-by-examination programs like the DSST make learning a personal experience. Students can study at their own pace for a fraction of the normal cost. As students reach out to The Chauncey Group for testing services, we provide complete study courses that encapsulate all the information necessary to assure a passing score."

"We found there was a need for complete test preparation," said Judith Moore, President and CEO of The Chauncey Group. "We are meeting that need by working with, a company with 16 years of experience that bases their study programs on collegiate textbooks and proven materials that have helped thousands of people."

Currently, offers 10 complete study courses for DSST exams covering a variety of subjects. Students may use paperback workbooks or online courses to learn the course at their own pace or to refresh their knowledge of a given subject without setting foot in a classroom. Once the student has completed the study course, he or she simply visits a testing center and takes the appropriate test.

Says Pittman, "Not every student has the resources or desire to complete a traditional college curriculum. Our program caters to those working adults, to those military personnel, and to the college students who want to graduate quicker or on a budget. I think this partnership is a win-win-win situation: The Chauncey Group gains access to complete study courses for their tests, gains access to another community of motivated learners, and students get an affordable and convenient study course that translates into real college credit."
