This Algebra course will prepare you for either the CLEP or DSST/Dantes examinations which covers material usually taught in a one-semester college course in algebra.

The CLEP College Algebra exam* includes the following types of questions:

  • Equations and inequalities 20%
  • Functions and their properties 25%
  • Number systems and operations 30%
The DSST/Dantes Fundamentals of College Algebra test** requires you to demonstrate the following abilities:
  • Fundamental algebraic operations 4%
  • Factoring polynomials over real numbers 6%
  • Rational expressions 7%
  • Exponential and radical expressions 8%
  • Linear equations 12%
  • Absolute value equations and inequalities 6%
  • Quadratic equations and inequalities 12%
  • Equations involving radicals 6%
  • Complex numbers 5%
  • Functions 20%
  • Two dimensional graphing 14%
